Methylnisolin (astrapterocarpan) is isolated from Astragalus membranaceus and can inhibit cell proliferation induced by platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) - BB, with an IC50 of 10 μ M。 Methylnisolin inhibits the phosphorylation of extracellular signal regulated kinase 1 / 2 (eric1 / 2) mitogen activated protein (map) kinase induced by PDGF-BB. Methylnisolin inhibits PDGF-BB induced proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells by inhibiting ERK1 / 2 MAP kinase cascade.
